About Shackletons Lodge

Shackletons Tiger Fishing Lodge is located in the flood plain region of the upper Zambezi River in Zambia. This places Shackletons Lodge right in the middle of ‘Tiger Country’, the premier venue for trophy tigerfish. These rich tiger fishing grounds are less than 5 minutes by boat from the lodge.

This very special part of the upper Zambezi is ‘Tiger Country’ because of the flood plains. The annual floods rejuvenate the river system around Shackletons Tiger Fishing Lodge. The river re-stocks itself with everything from crustaceans, to insects, to fish that go to the flood plains to feed and breed.

The annual flood into Zambezi floodplain rejuvenates and restocks the Zambezi river with all manner of life, making it the ideal place for fish to breed. Shackletons Fishing Lodge is ideally placed within this Tiger Country of the upper Zambezi floodplain, making it a premier venue for catching trophy Tiger fish.
